Benson Yang grew up in New Jersey, where he was valedictorian at Watching Hills Regional High School. He wanted to broaden his horizons prior to studying medicine and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Bachelor's Degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Humanities & Science as well as a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. He later graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and moved to Chicago to complete residency training in neurological surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Yang pursued additional fellowship training in Complex and Reconstructive Spine Surgery as well as Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  He joined Northwestern Neurosurgical Associates after training and has been happily providing excellent patient care ever since.  Dr. Yang currently lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters.  He enjoys traveling, reading, and fatherhood.
