Paul Ackerman, M.D.
Paul Ackerman is a Chicago native, having graduated from Adlai E. Stevenson High School. He subsequently enrolled at Princeton University, where he lettered in men’s varsity baseball all four years before graduating cum laude. He later graduated from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine with honors and then completed his residency in neurological surgery at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. During Dr. Ackerman's neurosurgery training, he spent time working at the NHS Trust St. George’s Hospital in London operating under the mentorship of renowned British neurosurgeon and humanitarian Mr. Henry Marsh, CBE. In addition, Dr. Ackerman completed one year of dedicated, sub-specialty training in complex spine and deformity correction surgery under the direction of Dr. Russ P. Nockels. Paul lives in Winnetka with his wife, Seema, and their daughters, Asha Mae and Mira Purnima. In his spare time, Paul enjoys attending Bruce Springsteen concerts, traveling with his family, and devouring U.S. presidential biographies.
